Assembly
Before using your BGFW13 FloorWash you need to assemble it. First, insert the handle into the body of the machine until you hear it click into place. Next, align the clean water tank with grooves on the back of machine and slide it until it clicks into place as well. Finally, attach the extension cord to cord lock and wrap it around the upper and lower cord wraps.
Note: To quickly and easily unwrap your cord, turn the Quick Release Cord Wrap Down.
Filling the Clean Water Tank
Before cleaning you need to fill the clean water tank. Remove the water tank from the vacuum by pulling it up from the machine. Then unscrew the cap from the bottom of the tank. Add your Bissell cleaning formula and follow instructions on the water to formula ratio recommended on the bottle of your formula. Screw the cap back on and place the tank back on the machine by lining up the grooves and sliding it down until it clicks into place.
Cleaning Your Floors
To begin cleaning your floors, plug in the machine to a grounded outlet and turn the power switch to the ON position. This will turn on the dry vacuum. Recline the handle of the machine to start spinning the brush roll (the brush roll will not start spinning if the machine is upright). Before you begin cleaning, hold the solution spray trigger for ten seconds to prime the system with cleaning solutions. LED lights illuminate when you are holding the trigger. Bubbles will also appear in the brush roll when solution is flowing.
Hold the trigger to apply cleaning solution when moving the vacuum forward and backward. For messes that are stuck to the surface of the floor, hold the machine over the mess and make short back and forth passes. Release the trigger and back a backward pass without dispensing solution to suck up cleaning solution. To dry your floors quickly make additional dry passes without dispensing cleaning solution. When you are finished power the machine off.
Emptying The Dirty Water Tank
After cleaning, press the button on the top of tank and grab the front handle to pull the tank out of the machine. Hold the top of the tank near the sides and pull up to remove the tank. Pour the dirty water down the sink to get rid of the dirty water.
Self-Clean
To clean your machine after use turn the power off. While the handle is in the upright position, press the self-clean button. The indicator light will blink for 60 seconds while the machine cleans itself. When they cycle is complete the machine will shut off. Make sure to empty the dirty water tank after self-cleaning. Run multiple cycles as necessary.
