Unlike other commercial vacuum cleaners, the 1984 AirRam does not require replaceable vacuum bags and it does not have associated accessories like interchangeable vacuum heads. However, if you need to replace the filter, or any parts of the vacuum cleaner from the dirt tank lid to the battery, we would be happy to help. How Do I Use the Upright 1984 AirRam Commercial Vacuum Cleaner?
For personal safety, make sure to store the vacuum cleaner indoors in a dry area and away from children. Do not block the appliances openings or hinder air flow. Avoid placing hair or other parts of the body near moving parts of the vacuum cleaner.
For electrical safety, make sure to only use batteries and chargers supplied by Bissell BigGreen Commercial. Do not modify the charger in any way. The charger was designed for a specific voltage. Always check the charger cord for signs of damage. Do not carry the charger by the cord ,do not wrap the cord around the charger when storing the charger. Keep the charger away from hot surfaces and sharp edges. Do not handle the charger or the vacuum with wet hands.
To assemble your 1984 AirRam vacuum follow these steps.
- Attach the lower handle onto the head of the AirRam
- Press the button at the top of the upper handle and slot it into the lower handle until it clicks
- Insert the battery by sliding it down, it will also click into place
- To extend the upper handle, hold down the button on the left hand side and pull it up. It will click into place.
To operate your 1984 AirRam vacuum follow these steps.
- Without pressing the power button, put your foot on the left side of the AirRam head and pull the handle back.
- The power button is located on the left hand side of the AirRam head.
- Press the button with your foot to turn the AirRam on
To store your 1984 AirRam vacuum follow these steps.
- To stow the upper handle, simply press the button on the left hand side and push the handle down
- The handle will now be fully retracted and the AirRam can be conveniently stored.
To charge the 1984 AirRam, follow these steps.
- When the state of charge indicator starts to flash one green LED, recharge the battery.
- The battery can be charged while it is in the AirRam or while it is out.
- Plug the charger into a wall outlet, and connect it to the battery.
- The battery can be charged from flat to full charge in 5 hours. The state of charge indicator will show 4 green lights when it is fully charged.

Why Won’t The 1984 AirRam Turn On?
- Battery Is Not Charged: Charge the battery and check the indicator
- Brush roll is obstructed: Clear debris from the brush bar.
Why is the 1984 AirRam Not Cleaning Effectively?
- Dirt Bin Is Full: Empty the dirt bin
- Dirt Bin Is Not Installed Correctly: Make sure the bin is correctly positioned and snapped into place.
- Filters Need Cleaning: Clean the filters. (Filters should be cleaned at least once per month, potentially more frequently based on vacuum use).
- Filters need to be replaced: See above to order new filters for your 1984 AirRam.
- Clog or Obstruction: Check for holes in the filter housing and check for blockages.
Why Won’t The 1984 AirRam Vacuum Battery Charge?
